Warehousing and storage
Warehousing and storage, arranged with your customs clearance
C&L Declarations arranges short and longer-term storage for pallets and stock through our logistics partners, and handles the customs clearance before the goods go in. It suits imports that land before you're ready for them, stock held between deliveries, and goods waiting to go out together on one load. We arrange storage for businesses across Ireland.

When does storage help?
Stock between deliveries
Hold pallets for days or weeks and send them out in smaller drops as orders come in.
Can you store goods before duty and VAT are paid?
Only under customs control. Revenue allows non-EU goods to wait with customs duty and VAT unpaid in an authorised temporary storage facility for up to 90 days, or in a customs warehouse run under a Revenue authorisation. C&L Declarations doesn't operate either. The storage we arrange is for goods that are already cleared, and we can tell you whether customs warehousing is worth looking at for your goods.
What should you tell us about your storage?
✓ Where the goods are coming from and going to
✓ Number of pallets, sizes and weight
✓ Date in, and how long you need the space
✓ How they'll go out: full load, part loads or single pallets
✓ Handling needs: stacking, temperature, fragile or high-value
✓ Any dangerous goods, with UN numbers
✓ Customs status: already cleared, or still to be imported

Questions we get asked
Frequently asked questions
Is the storage a bonded warehouse?
No. The storage we arrange through our logistics partners is for goods that have already cleared customs. Holding non-EU goods with duty and VAT suspended needs a customs warehouse authorised by Revenue. If that's what you need, send us the goods, the volumes and how long they'll be stored, and we'll talk you through the options before anything ships.
Can you store goods coming from Great Britain?
Yes. Goods from Great Britain are cleared into Ireland first, with the import declaration, duty and VAT dealt with, and then go into storage. If the crossing also needs an ENS, PBN or GMR, we prepare those as well, so the load arrives with its paperwork complete.
Why do you need to know the customs status of my goods?
Because it decides what has to be filed before the goods go in and when they come out. Goods already in free circulation in the EU can go straight into storage, while goods still to be imported must be cleared first. If you're not sure, send the invoice and transport documents and we'll check.
Can you deliver the goods out of storage?
Yes. When you need the goods, we arrange collection and delivery through our logistics partners, whether that's the whole lot or a few pallets at a time. If the goods are leaving Ireland for Great Britain or anywhere else outside the EU, we file the export declaration as well.
